ORIGINAL FRAMED/GLAZED MAP/PLAN RELATING TO INVASION OF SICILY 1943 - EXC.COND

An original framed & glazed map/plan of the
Combined Operations in the Mediterranean

relating to the role of H.M.S. Hilary where, in July 1943 at
the Invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky) it served as
the headquarters ship of Rear Admiral Sir Philip Vian.

Two months later, in September, 1943, it became the headquarters
ship of Commodore Geoffrey Oliver during the invasion of
the Italian mainland at Salerno. (Operation Avalanche).

This unique? item is in original condition,
and has never been opened at the back,
as you will see from the photographs.

It would guess that it was created
soon after hostilities ended in 1945

It measures 10.9” x 9”, and the frame
is in very good condition overall.
