Original pastel illustration - IN DEBDEN PARK, OCTOBER 1847 by Jane Inglis
A beautiful original British artwork, dating to 1847, and professionally mounted in a wooden frame with glass and mount.
This was part of a larger collection - the name of the artist and the piece are on the reverse on an exhibition sticker.
I do not know if the artist's signature is under the mount - it has been professionally mounted, and it comes from the collection of the Highgate Literary and Scientific Institution, which is disposing of a number of Victorian and twentieth-century artworks from their archives. All the proceeds from this sale will be put back into the HLSI, which has charitable status.
Frame measures 35cm x 31cm; the area with the painting visible measures approximately 17cm x 12.5cm.
