Omnitronix Data-Link Pollable Remote Access Unit DL-4M-2-33F-EA DL4M Data-Link Pollable Remote Access Unit The Data-Link Pollable Remote Access Unit supports TCP/IP, FTP and Telnet protocols for remote configuration and access, either via its onboard modem or an Ethernet connection. The unit comes with up to six serial ports, and up to 64MB of internal memory. Alarm notification actions include pager callouts, SNMP traps, modem callout messages, serial messages and box buzzers. The Complete Solution for Data Collection plus Remote Access and Alarm Management The award winning Data-Link Pollable Remote Access Unit solves your data management puzzles by providing serial, dialup or TCP/IP network access to six serial port connections, and combining your serial data collection, remote equipment management and alarm notification hardware into one reliable unit. This many-in-one approach eliminates costly duplication of interfacing equipment, and extra dialup lines or modems. Versatile Configurations Non-volatile memory sizes from 256K to 64MB provide adequate capacity to store all the collected serial data from two, four or six serial inputs. The optional 10Base-T Ethernet interface provides TCP/IP access for configuration and data polling operations. Dialup access via an optional 33.6Kbps or 2400bps internal modem provides connectivity in non-networked locations. You can order the Data-Link with six contact closure inputs to interface with environmental sensors. The Data-Link is also available with a -48VDC power source and a rack mount. Advanced Data Storage You can use each of the six serial ports of the Data-Link for data collection and/or bidirectional access to any connected serial device. Collected data can include ASCII or binary data from any RS-232 source. The data collected from each port is stored in separate "files," one for each I/O port. Polling and deleting records from one file does not affect records stored in any other file. As records enter the Data-Link, it dynamically allocates memory to ensure that all I/O ports and files have access to adequate storage memory. You can set three percentage-full threshold alarms per file to notify you of levels of memory levels used. Data-Link can also send alarms if it does not receive data within an expected time limit. Polling and Protocols The Data-Link offers polling with TCP/IP, modem, modem PPP and direct cable connections. The Data-Link also offers an FTP auto-push function that automatically sends collected data to your FTP server at predefined intervals. It is fully LAN or WAN compatible. Data-Link may initiate PPP transfers automatically as a fallback if the network is down. Data-Link can utilize Telnet and open-socket connections for real-time data feeds. All data transferred with FTP and PPP is error-checked to guarantee reliability. Remote Equipment Access Data-Link provides password and IP address security for bi-directional access to devices connected to its serial I/O ports. You may use a dialup or network pass-through connection to configure or program serial devices. It allows out-of-band management of PBX, router, voice mail system or other devices. SNMP Agent All Data-Link settings and parameters can be configured from your SNMP network management system (complete MIB available). User-defined alarm conditions may trigger SNMP traps to as many as eight SNMP managers for each event. SNMP trap alarms can be delivered via PPP from or to locations outside a LAN/WAN. Alarm Monitoring Customize Data-Link's alarm settings using DL Config, an easy-to-use configuration program that allows each user to define alarm settings, messages and much more. Each alarm event may trigger 34 notification actions: SNMP traps, pager callouts, modem messages, serial strings, and/or local buzzer. Alarm features include data alarms, toll-fraud alarms, no-data alarms, external sensor alarms, percentage-full alarms and scheduled alarms. Alarms can be activated from ASCII data evaluation, contact closure inputs, user-assigned percentage-full thresholds, lack of expected data, power failures, toll fraud applications, and more. Each alarm can apply to any one or all serial I/O ports. Define separate no-data schedules for weekday/weekends, daytime/evenings and holidays. Each schedule may utilize three threshold levels. Each threshold may trigger a different set of actions to indicate the severity of the alarm. Six contact closure inputs can be connected to external sensors to provide notification actions of undesirable environmental conditions. And Much More Data-Link firmware is stored in flash memory and can be upgraded remotely by technical support as new features or components are added. With CE mark certification and approval in other countries, Data-Link offers benefits to users worldwide. Power supply not included. |
