Seller's Description

Original U.S. 11 inch x 14 inch Set of 8 Lobby Cards for the 1942 Thorold Dickinson Ealing Studios War Movie NEXT OF KIN starring Mervyn Johns, Nova Pilbeam, Jack Hawkins, Stephen Murray, Reginald Tate, Geoffrey Hibbert, Philip Friend, Phyllis Stanley, Mary Clare, Basil Sydney, David Hutcheson, Frederick Leister, Torin Thatcher, Charles Victor, Basil Radford, Naunton Wayne, John Chandos and Thora Hird.

Fascinating wartime thriller about careless talk costing lives, expanded from an army training film by Ealing Studios. It’s an unsettling story about a German spy infiltrating himself into an area of the British coast and the easy way he thwarts a secret commando raid on France.. Handled effectively as both entertainment and propaganda by Dickinson. They had to change the ending when Churchill wanted to ban the film as a threat to national morale. Made at the invitation of the War Office, who put up a small amount of the backing.

The lobby set is in fine condition.
