ALGINATE & PLASTER MATERIALS:  The casting kit contains plenty of dental, high grade colour change (chromatic) alginate impression powder - which is totally safe for use on your baby as the alginate's main ingredient is seaweed!  (Dentists use this exact same alginate in their patient's mouths, it conforms to British safety standards BS 4269 Pt.2:1991 & ISO 1563:1990).  There's 500g pack per kit, which is nearly double than some other kits - this 500g amount will make approx. 6 casts of a newborn baby and 2-3 casts for a 2-3 year old.  Plus there's 800g of strong, stone casting plaster - again, double than what some other kits are offering.  All materials can be bought separately in our shop should you wish to purchase more for additional casts.

3D BOX DISPLAY FRAME:  With a glass measurement of 11.5x8.5" (overall frame size is approx. 13.5x10.5"), this frame is suitable to display a few casts from a newborn baby age and is plenty large enough to display a single hand cast of a 3 year old.  The casting display area in the mount card is 6.5x4.5" so if you are unsure if the cast/casts of your baby will fit in within this space, then you can draw out this shape on a piece of paper to check against your baby's hands/feet! The photo area is for a standard photo 6x4” size with the space for baby's details being 1x3”. You can handwrite or print out baby's details on a piece of paper or card and then put it into place from the rear of the mount card (the same way how the photo is put in).  The price of this kit represents outstanding value compared to other kits out there on the market.  Whether you are purchasing this kit for yourself or as a present, you will not be disappointed with the quality!

THE PROCESS:  3D casting will produce amazing results and the effort is more than worth it, we promise!  You will definitely need a helper to assist you (some people find that having a 2nd helper makes the process even easier, but this is up to you) and with the help of our instructions that come with the kit you will be able to produce some great casts.  Your baby does not need to be sleeping to take the moulds, but we do suggest that if your baby is too wriggly during the first attempt of making a mould, then to wait until they're fast asleep before trying again (this suggestion is in our instructions).  By doing this, you should avoid wasting too much of the alginate and get some perfect moulds!  A brief pictorial guide is given below for you:

The BABY CASTING KIT section of this set comprises of the following:

The FRAME section of the kit:

The luxury, handcrafted in the UK, rustic pine distressed effect frame will easily compliment any decor around the home.   The frame measures approx: 

Glass:  Length 11.5" x Width 8.5" x Depth 2.2" (making the overall frame size approx. 13.5x10.5x2.2").

This box frame has plenty of depth to it as if baby's hand is curled up instead of spread out then it will take up more room.  This frame is designed to allow for that extra room.   The frame offers a professional & well proportioned display for your castings.

Ivory Cream Mount card.

The casting display area measures 6.5"x4.5".

The photo display area measures 6x4” (standard photo size, you do not need to cut your photo to insert it behind the Oval shape cut out).

The name display area measures 1x3”.

The backing card is also Ivory Cream (an exact colour match to the mount card).

PACKING:  The item is gift packed into a nice, sturdy box.  It is perfectly packaged for either a treat for yourself or a gift for another. Example of packing below:
