Nazareth (pron.: /'næz?r??/; Hebrew: ??????? Natzrat or Natzeret; Arabic: ????????????? an-Na?ira or an-Naseriyye) is the largest city in the North District of Israel. Nazareth is known as ""the Arab capital of Israel""; the population is made up predominantly of Arab citizens of Israel, almost all of whom are either Muslim (69%) or Christian (30.9%).[2][3][4][5] In the New Testament, the city is described as the childhood home of Jesus, and as such is a center of Christian pilgrimage, with many shrines commemorating biblical events.
The Salesians of Don Bosco (or the Society, originally known as the Society of St. Francis de Sales) is a Roman Catholic religious institute founded in the late nineteenth century by Saint Don Bosco in an attempt, through works of charity, to care for the young and poor children of the industrial revolution. The Salesians' charter describes the society's mission as ""the Christian perfection of its associates obtained by the exercise of spiritual and corporal works of charity towards the young, especially the poor, and the education of boys to the priesthood"".[1] The institute is named for St. Francis de Sales, an early-modern bishop of Geneva. He died on the 31st of Januray 1888
