Seller's Description

MORO: THE LITTLE BLACK DONKEY by Kurt Eigl Illutsrated by Wilifried Zeller-Zellenberg (Translated by Dorothy Drake)
In the sun-drenched village of luca, which lies by the sea at the foot of rocky mountains, lives the little black donkey, Moro.
The people of Luca are so poor that few of them can afford a donkey. Knowing this, greed Farmer Stefan who owns Moro, makes him toil for everyone from early morning until late at night.
Moro often wonders sadly why he has to work so hard and dreams of a happier life where donkeys are well cared for. He is not alone in his troubles, however, for he has two faithful friends, the little girl Nicola and Gri-gri the hen. Together they share his many adventures and help to make life easier for him. How Nicola finally rescues Moro from the clutches of Farmer Stefan and makes his dreams come true, forms the exciting climax to this charming story.
First Published in English in 1962, this is  a 1966 reprint hardback with dustjacket published by Thomas Nelson (Printers) Ltd in GB.
