Seller's Description

Original British 9 1/2 inch x 7 1/4 inch Still of GREGORY PECK, A.E. MATTHEWS & BRIAN OULTON in the 1954 Ronald Neame Comedy THE MILLION POUND NOTE, based on the novel by Mark Twain.

As part of a bet, two aristocrats offer a penniless American a loan, without telling him that the amount is £1,000,000 in the form of a single banknote.

The still is by George Courtney Ward (1918 - 2011). Based at Pinewood Studios after the war, Courtney Ward was the photographer of choice for the rising talents of the British film industry. Among the many films he worked on were Oliver Twist (1948), Doctor In The House (1954), Victim (1961), This Sporting Life (1963) and The Ipcress File (1965).

The still is in very good condition with a brief synopsis tacked to the reverse.
