Seller's Description

Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1989 Andi Engel Thriller MELANCHOLIA starring Jeroen Krabbé, Susannah York, Ulrich Wildgruber and Kate Hardie.

Art critic Krabbé, a German ex-pat living in London, is confronted by his radical 1960s past when he's asked to assassinate a Chilean murderer who is on a visit to London. Krabbé's anti-hero is spot on and his increasing struggle with his identity convincing. Engel's intelligent and visually engaging thriller breaks a few rules while still relishing the dynamics of the mystery genre.

Directed by Andi Engel (1942 - 2006). A former critic and movie buyer for German television, Engel's legacy to British cinema was the formation - with his wife Pam - of Artificial Eye. Founded in 1976, the company introduced popular European films to British audiences, sometimes on their own art house screens.

The poster is in very good folded condition.
