In this Second World War drama, American airman John Savage is shot down over Hungary, where he joins the horsemen and resistance fighters who roam the Hortobagy plain. In civilian life, Savage is a cowboy from Wyoming, so he has no trouble fitting in, but the vast, treeless landscape Is the undoubted star of Pál Gábor’s film.
