Original Polish 23 1/4 inch x 34 inch Poster for the 1953 Alex Zolotnitsky & Vasili Vanin Russian Romantic Comedy KRECHINSKY’S WEDDING (SVADBA KRECHINSKOGO), based on the play by Aleksandr Sukhovo-Kobylin and starring Eugene Aguri, Marina Kuznetsova, Olga Vikland, Boris Smirnov, Pavel Tarasov, George Peter and Stepan Bubnov.

Poster art by Jan Lenica (1928 - 2001). Jan Lenica became assistant to Henryk Tomaszewski at the Academy in Warsaw and later collaborated with Walerian Borowczyk on many prize-winning cartoons. His work on film posters brought him first prize at the International Film Poster Competition in 1962, one of many prizes awarded him in his part-time career as a poster designer.

The poster is in good condition with some edge tears some of which have been repaired from the reverse with tape. The poster was originally folded but has been laying flat for some time, so will be shipped rolled.
