The MOPS/586 (Minimised Open PC System), with acomputer processing performance of up to Am5x86-P75 with 133 MHz is certainly one of the most efficient and highly integrated CPU-modules in PC/104 size. In addition to the standard interfaces 2xRS232C, LPT,
Floppy and EIDE, a "Boot Counter" and a Realtime clock are integrated as standard control functions. 4 MByte of main memory are already on board and has been expanded up to 36 MByte because 32MB  has been added in the lower DIMM socket. The upper socket of this connector is used as JIPA (JUMPtecIntelligent Panel Adaption) interface
for connecting LCD flatpanels (if it had graphics module). A bootable BIOS compatible flash harddisk with1.6 MByte is on board. A IDE compatible fl ash harddisk
(chipDISK) up to 96 MByte can be plugged directly
onto the 2,5" harddisk interface. As an option twisted
pair Ethernet is also available.
The MOPS/586 is optimized for headless operation. It
includes all features of the MOPSlcd4 except grafi c.
