Keswick Old Station 1969 Cumbria, Seatoller Bus, Large Photo
Description: This is a Large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of a period scene at the old Keswick Bus Station in 1969. A Cumberland Motor Services 1953 ECW bodied Leyland Royal Tiger PSU1/15, fleet number 162, registration plate RHN763, route number 79, and destination board 'Seatoller' has pulled into the old Keswick bus station via the old Main Street entrance.
It is a windy atmospheric morning and the Skiddaw Range is visible in the distance. The old bus station is no more, and this area is now partially the site of 'Booths' superstore, although the site of the south entrance of the old bus station is still visible from Main Street if you look closely enough.
This Leyland Royal Tiger was new to United in 1953, was sold to Cumberland Motor Services in 1967 and withdrawn in 1970, not quite a year after this photograph was taken.
