Seller's Description

Original 1842 7 3/8 inch x 5 3/8 inch engraving titled THE JEW’S DAUGHTER OF PERGAMUS.

The daughter of one of the kings of Pergamum, the ancient Greek city in modern-day Turkey.

Engraved by Henry Richard Cook (active 1802 - 1849). Henry Cook was a line and stipple engraver working in London in the first half of the nineteenth century. He engraved mainly portraits.

From ‘Fisher’s Drawing Room Scrap-Book’ published by Fisher, Son & Co., Newgate Street, London & 108, Rue St. Honore, Paris.

Page size 10 3/4 inch x 8 3/8 inch

The engraving is in very good condition with slight foxing in the white border. Reverse side blank.
