Original 10 inch x 8 inch Still of PAUL ROBESON during a break in filming for the 1937 Thornton Freeland Adventure JERICHO, based on a story by Walter Futter.
Paul Robeson moved his family to London in 1928 and during the next twelve years, he starred in six British films, pioneering uncharted territory for black actors and reaching a level of prominence unthinkable in Hollywood. Jericho turned out to be his most satisfying film role, having taken more artistic control He stars as a World War I officer who escapes his fate as a black man by fleeing to Africa and creating a new world for himself.
The still, on doubleweight paper, is in very good condition.
