Original Belgian 16 1/2 inch x 21 inch Poster for the 1944 Gregory Ratoff Musical IRISH EYES ARE SMILING, based on a story by E.A. Ellington and starring Monty Woolley, June Haver, Dick Haymes as Irish songwriter Ernest R. Ball, Anthony Quinn, Veda Ann Borg and Clarence Kolb.
A tunefull account of the life of Ernest R. Ball, composer of many popular Irish songs, including the title's.
The poster is in very good folded condition with a small tear in the word ‘Smiling’ and the remains of a tax stamp at the bottom. It is printed on the reverse of a wartime map of Central Europe. As with many vintage Belgian posters the top border has been trimmed off.
