Seller's Description

4 Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisements from Kinematograph Weekly of JOAN GREENWOOD, EDITH EVANS, MARGARET RUTHERFORD & MICHAEL REDGRAVE in the 1952 Anthony Asquith Comedy THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, based on the play by Oscar Wilde.

Asquith’s elegant adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s impeccable comedy, with a definitive cast. Redgrave and Denison have poise and chilly charm as wealthy bachelors Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff who pretend to be called Ernest to court Gwendolen and Cecily (Greenwood and Tutin). Evans’s performance as Lady Bracknell is priceless and Rutherford and Malleson are inspired as Miss Prism and Canon Chasuble.

The Advertisements are in very good condition.
