Impel 1991 U.S. Olympic Hall Of Fame Card #43 Bobby Joe Morrow Athletics
I acquired this card from an estate sale.
Bobby Joe Morrow, Jersey #12, U.S. Olympic Cards Hall Of Fame. Card #43 from the 1991 Impel set.
The front of the card has a picture of Bobby Joe Morrow, the rear of the card has a picture of Bobby with his story and stats.

Date of birth: Oct. 15, 1935
Birthplace: Harlingen, TX
Hometown: Brownsville, TX
College: Abilene Christian College
Just before the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, he lost ten pounds to a virus, but he made a remarkable recovery winning a gold medal in both the 100 and 200 meters and sharing a third in the relay. The same year he won the NCAA 100 and 200 meters and the AAU 100- meter title for the second straight year. He went on to tie world records three times and in the 1957 and 1958 NCAA championships, he repeated the sprint victories and was a member of the Abilene Christian team that set a world record in the 440- and BBO-yard relays. Morrow received the James E. Sullivan Award in 1957 as the nation's top amateur athlete and was named 1956 Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated. After his career in track and field, Morrow became a rancher.
