Original 1956 Polish 22 3/4 inch x 33 inch Poster for the 1954 Zahari Zhandov Bulgarian Historical Drama HEROES OF SEPTEMBER (SEPTEMVRIYTZI) starring Asparuh Temelkov, Boris Ganchev, Lyuboslav Stefanov, Nikola Dadov, and Ivan Bratanov.
Black and White drama dedicated to the uprising, which broke out in Bulgaria in September 1923..
Poster art by Roman Cieslewicz. Born in 1930, Roman Cieslewicz studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in his home town of Lvov from 1943 to 1945 and the Academy of Fine Arts in Crakow from 1949 to 1954. Originally influenced by Henryk Tomaszewski, his work revealed Expressionist tendencies prior to his emigration to France. He has since been recognised as one of the world’s foremost commercial artists.
The poster is in very good condition with 2 vertical fold lines. The poster has been stored flat for some time so will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
