Seller's Description
Herculite No.2 plaster produces durable, hard casts with excellent
reproduction of the finest details.
Perfect for plaster repair work and
creating 2D & 3D casts, replicating the most intricate of
fingerprints, nails, cuticles and skin details, Herculite 2 is a far
superior plaster compared to commonly used Plaster of Paris.
Choose the
quantity you need from a 500g to a 25kg sack. The 5kg quantity is
supplied in a handy clear 5L container, of which you can not only store
the plaster in it, but also use the container for adult hand or family
hand casting!
Produced by British Gypsum, Herculite No. 2 is a
formulated hemihydrate plaster (CaSO4.1/2H2O). It is made from naturally
occurring high purity gypsum minerals. Herculite II plaster is
off-white in colour and when dried in a cast form, it has a a perfect
white base for applying paint for the final finish.
Plaster to Water
ratio (by weight) is 2.38:1
Water to Plaster ratio (by weight) is 42%
Plaster to Water Ratio: 2.38kg/1 litre (divide plaster weight by 2.38
for water requirement in ml)
Some examples:
- 1kg plaster / 420ml water
- 800g plaster / 335ml water
- 400g plaster / 170ml water
- 200g plaster / 85ml water
Herculite No. 2 is a safe plaster to use and is easy to mix
when using the correct plaster to water ratio. It's setting time is
relatively quick - when the plaster is not being 'worked' and left to
set, the initial setting time is 10 minutes, with a final setting time
of 13 minutes. Mixing time is on average 2-4 minutes.
NOTE: Do NOT let
plaster/water mix come into contact with skin. For making a cast, you
need an impression moulding powder like BabyRice Alginate to create the
impression mould. When you have created the impression mould, you use
the plaster to create the final cast.
