Summary: "After the Democratic Party nominate Samuel Tilden, a firm believer in hard money (specie), for President in 1876, an anti-Tilden group engineered Thomas Hendricks, a soft-money politician from Indiana, on to the ticket as his running mate.

In this cartoon, Hen(dricks)-Pecked, Father Tilden fed the Rag Baby “Democratic Platform Soothing Syrup while Mother stoked the fire in their “House of Reform.”"
