"THE STORY OF THE POST through the ages, from the days of the running footman to those of the Air Mail, has the charm of adventurous and romantic commonplace. History may be veracious, but can never be novel, so much of this story is a twice-told tale—but the best tales always bear retelling. There is a novelty of emphasis in that the early days of the British Post Office  are antedated a century earlier than is generally reckoned; their beginnings are in the days of the Tudors, since when there has been steady and continuous progress, and the birthday may in some sort be reckoned from the day when Henry VI Il appointed Sir Brian Tuke to be first ' Master of the King's Posts.'"

I ship items securely wrapped with plastic bag around the book(s), in cardboard boxes or with cardboard wrapped around the book in a plastic bag so that the edges etc will not be damaged in transit. I also usually will wrap the book in newspaper or equivalent. Please note that Acceptable Reading copies are normally shipped in a jiffy bag only. Books are graded as follows, an + or - means the books is at the top or bottom of a category. Ask if you a query about a book.

New / Nearly New  - bookshop fresh, may have been lightly read.
Very Good - clean copy, but may have light spine creases, some older books will have signs of tanning to edges. Slight edgewear. Faults will be noted or photographed.
Good - clean copy, faults are noted but may have creased spine, older books will have some tanning, may show wear eg creased cover, creased cover corners, edgewear, inscription which are noted. Faults will be noted or photographed.
Acceptable - well read book which shows major signs of wear. Could be fragile and have loose pages but will be noted.
Acceptable / Reading copy - extremely worn, usually has loose pages. Usually sold only for popular or unusual books.
