Original 1893 6 3/4 inch x 10 inch Etching titled GUNPOWDER PLOT: THE CONSPIRATORS’ LAST STAND AT HOLBEACH HOUSE, NOV. 7, 1605.

The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 was a failed assassination attempt against King James I by a group of provincial English Catholics led by Robert Catesby who sought to restore the Catholic monarchy to England after decades of persecution against Catholics.
