Interesting type with portrait of Rajah Charles C. Brooke (1868—1917) in attractive condition. It is highly impressive issue, showing the British policy not to include new territories under the Crown those days. As the result Sarawak, being gifted to a British citizen Brook by sultan of Brunei, got independence. The coinage was made in Birmingham and clearly indicates the British tradition of style. Rajah Charles continued the policy of His Father and cut the territory of Brunei piece by piece during many years, 1884 including. Against the Atlantic charter, which declared that the British Crown would not use the war to increase its territory, after the Second World war Sarawak entered the British Realm as the Crown Colony. This made end of the coinage of the White Rajahs on Sarawak.
