Original 1946 Italian 13 inch x 13 1/2 inch Photobusta for the 1937 Jean Renoir Wartime Drama LA GRANDE ILLUSION starring Jean Gabin, Dita Parlo, Pierre Fresnay, Erich von Stroheim, Julien Carette, Gaston Modot, Georges Peclet, Marcel Dalio and Jean Daste.
Renoir’s masterpiece about WWI, set mostly in 2 prison camps commanded by German aristocrat von Stroheim, with the great Gabin and Fresnay among the prisoners. A vividly expressive study in the tragedy of war and its effect on lives bound by country or class, with faultless work in every aspect.
The photobusta is in very good condition with pinholes and light creasing around the edges.
