You are buying a 1oz (28gm) Bar of Black Beeswax

 

Beeswax has the advantage over other shoe polishes in that your hands remain clean after handing a bar or a chunk that has  not been mixed or heated. it also lasts a lot longer than those tins of black ‘product’ that shrinks in the tin and becomes useless.  You use just as much as you need,  returning the remainder of the bar to safe storage.

 

All gentleman’s gentleman know that the best finish on a black shoe is Beeswax. The old established way of application is a low heat melt and than applied directly to the shoe and rubbed in hard, small amounts at a time to maintain the heated softness of the wax.

 

More recently it has been found that you can cut off a small piece of wax from the bar and mix it with oil. Hazelnut oil is best or, almond oil, or linseed oil; but if you, or your master, have a nut allergy then olive oil works, but the polish produced will not keep, so make enough for just the one job. If you want it to smell nice then add lavender oil or sandalwood oil into the mix. 3 of oil to 1 of wax is approximate mix ratio, but this is a bit of trial and error to find a mix that works for you. If you are after a hard shiny finish then, when melting the wax add carnauba wax in the ratio of 1 of wax to one tenth of carnauba.

 

All of these measures are APPROXIMATE and you should experiment to obtain the consistency and finish you are looking for

 

Make as you would for chocolate Put the oil and beeswax in a Bain Marie, or a Pyrex bowl into a pan of boiling water, and heat it gently, stirring occasionally until the beeswax melts (about 5 - 10 minutes) Then remove from the heat and add any essential oil for smell, and optional vitamin E oil (or other antioxidant oil) and stir well. Then pour into  glass or metal container and leave  for a few hours for it to harden to a solid consistency.

A UK based successful bidder has only 4 clear days from the day after the auction closes, to have funds deposited with me, a buyer from abroad also has only 4 clear days. Any failure to supply funds by the specified time will result in an automated complaint to being an automated process and is beyond my control

 

I will only accept bids from the residents of the following countries and I will only post to the residents of these countries and sometimes a limit within this list depending upon the item

I am always concerned that any buyer is entirely happy with a purchase arising from my ‘Description’. However, your bidding price should reflect your expectations given by my ‘Conditions’. All items are entirely described by the written description which starts below the word 'Description' and the photograph(s). The classification of 'new' or 'used' or 'for parts' is entirely overridden by the 'Description' and the 'Photographs'. No refunds are possible for any miss-‘Description’ except where the goods are clearly not those on offer. All goods are purchased entirely at the buyer’s risk and the buyer should satisfy themselves about the detail of any specifications before bidding which requires them to look at all of the 'photographs' and if necessary ask for further information. Electrical goods typically sold by my auction are collectors items and do not conform to any current regulations the electrical goods are only sold as suitable for collectors display purposes. When sold as ‘Working’ the meaning of ‘Working’ is that the goods will only conform to the auction ‘Description’ of the function of goods and will not be warranted to conform to the original specification in any way. If described as ‘Working’ this means the goods were tested or examined in some imprecise way some months before sale and they were ‘Working’ then and put into storage. There is no implication that they will work in any way that meets your expectations upon delivery that have not been advised to me before your bidding or buying except as arising from the implication of the previous test or examination. ‘Working’ when applied to mains supplied equipment specifically means that they were tested on a temporary basis by a trained electronics technician. You must have the item tested and if necessary rewired by a person qualified to do so before plugging anything into the mains regardless of your perceived abilities. ‘Untested’ means that no power has been applied or any other means of testing has taken place, however there may be a part physical examination of the goods which forms part of the description. Electrical and electronic goods are sold for restoration and display purposes only. I reserve the right to remove any bidders, who do not meet any of my auction conditions, or who have negative feedback and I reserve the right to block bidders for any reason and advise others that I have done so and why. Where items are supplied as wrapped, or new, and are then opened, or used, or altered in any way by the buyer, there will be no refunds under any circumstances.
