Question From 3535ann [+17] Mon 14 May 2012 20:54:04 (BST) Dear Barrie, I have
just bought a number
of prestige
panes,will you credit
me with most of the
postage. I am new to
stamp collecting and
will be buying from
you many more stamps
to complete my
windsor albums from
1980 to 2000.Do you
have the hawid mounts
of this size and you
may feel that you can
let me have them free
with my order, if not
what is the price and
if you don't sell
them where can i get
them from. Regards
Paul. Looking forward
to you helping me to
complete my album as
funds allow.

Answer From borucha [+3186] Mon 14 May 2012 21:23:04 (BST) Paul,
many thanks for your purchases and prompt payment.
Welcome to the world of stamp collecting, which is a truly wonderful hobby. I am sure it will give you many hours and years of pleasure as it has done and continues to do for me.
As i am sure you will have seen I don't charge postage on most if not all my items so there is no credit i can give you for postage.
However, if i have hawid mounts I will send them for free. Remind me are hawid the mounts that open in the middle or at the top?
Would be delighted to help you build your GB decimal collection following the listings in the windsor albums as your funds allow.
Regards Barrie
ps apologies for calling you Ann in my earlier email i went by the registered name of the purchaser !

Question From 3535ann [+17] Tue 15 May 2012 09:00:42 (BST) Dear Barrie, My album
has both types of
Hawid mounts but for
the large prestige
panes the ones that
open in the middle
seem to hold the
stamps in position
better but I am happy
with either as I
don't know where to
buy any and I am only
just coming to terms
with the internet!!!
Can you quote me
please for the
following:-
X841L,a,n,o,p,q,r,s,sa
,x843,5 and 7 and
L.These are the
numbers shown in the
windsor volume 3
decimal stamp album.
If you can break them
down by price and
tell me how I can
make payment I will
buy what I can afford
now and the rest
later because I have
no idea as to pricing
or value and am
relying upon you as
an honest trader with
whom I hope to do
business for a long
time until my
collection is
complete!!! (if
ever).Thank you for
your help in
supplying the hawid
strips. I can get the
smaller hawid strips
for stamps but not
the larger size for
blocks. Regards, Paul

Answer From borucha [+3186] Tue 15 May 2012 12:11:54 (BST) Paul, many thanks for your email. I would concur that the mounts that open in the middle seem more robust at holding the stamp/s in place though for the samller stamp they are a little awkward to get the stamp in without bending or damaging it so be careful. I will let you know prices for the panes/stamps you have listed, rest assured as a fellow collector just one who has been at it a lot longer my prices are usually a lot less than any dealer for i am trying to help out fellow collectors and give me more money to spend on stamps for my own collection to buy the more expensive stamps such as x842. For pricing/value i would strongly suggest you get the latest edition of the stanley gibbons concise catalogue, it costs £29.95 plus postage but the other day amazon had an offer on it for £23ish including postage. Dont take the values in there as gospel but for the stamps you collect generally halve them. I will work out prices and then list them on ebid so that you can payt me through them and get the protection from paypal and ebid, its a small price to pay for the added security for you and me. regards Barrie

Question From 3535ann [+17] Tue 15 May 2012 15:40:33 (BST) Hi Barrie, Please
tell me when they are
going on Ebid with
their description so
that I can then go on
ebid and buy what I
can afford or perhaps
you might like to
send the list to me
first and I can tell
you what I can afford
and you can then
place them on ebid
buying the rest next
month. I see on
looking on ebid I see
you have 2 more
prestige panes that I
can use so I will
delay making a bid
until I hear from
you. Regards, Paul

Answer From borucha [+3186] Wed 16 May 2012 06:58:45 (BST) Paul, had a look at list, if i am correct x843;x845 and x847 are single stamps whilst x841n and x841q are coils, in otherwards a strip of different value stamps joined next to each other known as se-tenent. my prices would on ebid be as follows; x841L - £2.75; x841La - £1.60; x841n - £2.20; x841o - £5.75; x841p - £29 (for good perforations on scarce 1/2p can do for less with average/poor perforations); x841q - £1.40; x841r - £1.30; x841s - £1.80; x841sa - £1.80; x843 - £1.15; x845 - £1.10 and finally x847L - £3.20 please let me know which of these you wnat me to list on ebid. Regards Barrie

Question From 3535ann [+17] Wed 16 May 2012 08:45:13 (BST) Dear Barrie, Thank
you for your e-mail,
I misled you in that
x843, 845 and 867 are
in a block
headed "remember the
postcode", their
number appears to be
843m. I am happy to
buy all the stamps
you've listed with
the exception of
those 3 (x843 etc.)
for which you can
quote me for the
block and the X851.
If you can quote me
for one with poor
perforations I will
give it
consideration, I will
of course need it at
some time. In the
meantime rather than
put you to a lot of
work putting these on
ebid if you e-mail me
your full address I
will send you a
cheque for £20.90
which is the value of
the stamps with the
exception of the ones
mentioned above and I
won't expect you to
send them until you
are happy that the
cheque has cleared.
Regards, Paul.
