I ship items securely wrapped with plastic bag around the book(s), in cardboard boxes or with cardboard wrapped around the book in a plastic bag so that the edges etc will not be damaged in transit. I also usually will wrap the book in newspaper or equivalent. Please note that Acceptable Reading copies are normally shipped in a jiffy bag only. I tend to grade as follows, and will sometimes add a + or - if a book is borderline for caegory. Specific notes for books are usually in the writtem description by each book and a summary at top. The majority of paperback books I have listed are four inches wide by six or seven inches high approx; hardbacks and trade paperbacks will be noted in the listing.. For a ROUGH guide:
New / Nearly New - bookshop fresh, may have been lightly read.
Very Good - clean copy, but may have light spine creases, some older books will have signs of tanning to edges. Slight edgewear. Faults will be noted or photographed.
Good - clean copy, faults are noted but may have creased spine, older books will have some tanning, may show wear eg creased cover, creased cover corners, edgewear, inscription which are noted. Faults will be noted or photographed.
Acceptable - well read book which shows major signs of wear. Could be fragile and have loose pages but will be noted.
Acceptable / Reading copy - extremely worn, usually has loose pages. Usually sold only for popular or unusual books.
