Seller's Description

Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement from The Cinema for the 1951 Henry Cornelius Comedy THE GALLOPING MAJOR, written by Monja Danischewsky, Henry Cornelius & Basil Radford and starring Basil Radford, Jimmy Hanley, Janette Scott, Joyce Grenfell, A.E. Matthews, Charles Victor, Hugh Griffith, Rene Ray, Sydney Tafler, Charles Hawtrey, Alfie Bass, Sidney James, Kenneth More, Stuart Latham, Leslie Phillips, Edie Martin, Sam Kydd, Thora Hird, Duncan Lamont, jockey Charlie Smirke and the radio commentators Raymond Glendenning and Bruce Belfrage.

The title is taken from the song "The Galloping Major", and the plot was centred on gambling at the horse racing track. People in a London suburb form a syndicate to buy a race horse to run in the Grand National but they accidentally buy the wrong horse. The horse is useless on the flat, so they decide to enter him as a jumper.

The Advertisement is in very good condition.
