Seller's Description

BG883  A fascinating collection of three antique 1915 postcards all from the same publisher showing a soldiers familyat the gate as the mother and children have to say farewell to their father as he heads on military service during the war to the battlefield - These are all sent from a soldier in 1915 in Passau with each of the cards having the soldiers messages on reverse from the camp dated 1st Oct 1915, 8th Oct 1915 and 19th Oct 1915 - Each message needs individual translation (all scanned - see image 2) as they could be from the frontline - all carry the camps special wartime franks (again see the scans) and whilst some places to allow (eg small corner fraying and some ageing) are all very good used condition. (vg minus). Comes with a fourth bonus card also of a soldiers 1915 farewell and whilst no camp military franks on the reverse the message is I think from the same soldier as the writing appears similar (again please view scan).  A fascinating themed collection of soldiers private postcards.
