Fantasy Jasper Cabochon: Old-Dig Variety; Peach, Red w/ Desirable Blue; 58+ cts

Old-dig Fantasy jasper pieces with turquoise-blue are now very difficult to find. Newer material from another Mexican mine now being sold bear little resemblance to the older material. This piece features a flattering cream-to-peach-pink background in a striking brecciated orb pattern with a river of blue and sections of shattered blue orbs sprinkled throughout. Nice red outlines, too. Exquisite and unique.

Fantasy jasper shares a similar palette of creams, ochre and reds with the more plentiful "Butterfly Wing" jasper. The patterning in Fantasy jasper consists of streamers and intricately deformed orbs interspersed with blue dots and orbs. It has always been rare, and supplies have dwindled in recent years. The photos were taken with the material dry under natural sunlight. Will make a stunning centerpiece in your jewel design.
