Elvis sings and sings and in between there’s something almost like a plot, albeit undeveloped. Elvis is a circus performer fleeing from his past. He ends up in Mexico and is quickly unemployed. His manager is a sneaky pintsize kid who knows how to get things done. Elvis soon finds that he can’t decide between two women, Ursula Andress and Elsa Cardenas, so he dates both, much to the chagrin of Alejandro Rey, in the thankless role of a lifeguard, who was doing just fine with Ursula until Elvis showed up to sing a lot of forgettable tunes, only swiveling for Bossa Nova Baby. Lightweight fair, but at least Elvis looked like he was enjoying himself, even if he wasn’t actually in Mexico at the time, having been banned from there in 1957.
