Original 1866 9 inch x 7 5/8 inch engraving titled THE EFT
Three children at right, including a small girl holding hoop and stick, gazing at a newt in a jar held by a boy with fishing rod at left.
Engraving by Lumb Stocks (1812 - 1892) and J. Stancliffe.
After Henry Le Jeune (1819 - 1904). An English painter of landscapes, genre, literary and biblical scenes. He became well known for his genre paintings of children.
From the Picture in the Collection of George Simpson, Esq. Wray Park, Reigate.
