Original 10 inch x 8 inch Black and White Portrait of DOLORES DEL RIO
Text attached to reverse: NY-A-29. DOLORES DEL RIO ... beautiful Latin star who is under contract to make two pictures for RKO Radio. According to present plans, she will be co-starred with Joel McCrea in one of the productions. The tremendous popularity of these two in “The Bird of Paradise” is said to have resulted in the decision to team them again in a romantic drama.
The portrait is by Ernest A. Bachrach (1899 - 1973) with his stamp on the reverse.
One of the most influential Hollywood portrait photographers, Bachrach headed the photographic department at RKO from its inception in 1929 and stayed until Desilu purchased the studio in 1958.
The portrait is in very good condition with a nick in the bottom border, minor surface marks and a caption tacked to the reverse.
