Disk 04: 150 American & Canadian locomotive photos 1987-1989 on CD

Disk four – North American Railroads
in the late 1980’s

This CD features 150 full colour photographs of American locomotives seen in the Southern Michigan / Northern Ohio area from 1987-1989, and Canadian locomotives in Toronto and Southern Ontario as well.  Many of the locomotives are older units built in the 1950’s/60’s which are no longer in service, so there is some good nostalgia here too.

• Railroads include:  Amtrak, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, Conrail, CSX, Grand Trunk and Western, GO Transit, Norfolk Southern, VIA Rail, plus numerous smaller lines that have been incorporated into these.

• Locomotive types include:  B23-7, B36-7, C30-7, C36-7, C39-8, C424, F40PH, F59PH, FPA4, FP7, FP9, GP7, GP8, GP9, GP15, GP30, GP35, GP38, GP40, GP50, LRC, M420, M630, M636, SD35, SD40, SD45, SD60, SW7, SW8, SW1200, SW1500, U23B, U30C plus numerous variants.

• 15 photos of preserved diesels:  E8A, F7A, H10-44, NW2, RS2, RSD12, S2, S4 at 3 different preservation sites.

• 20 photos of two steam hauled railtours with the streamlined N&W 611, and the articulated N&W 1218 – one of the largest steam locomotives ever built.

• A “help file” with details of all the different locomotive models plus explanations of abbreviations for those people not familiar with American railroads.  This file is stored in .DOCX, .RTF and .PDF formats.

• All photos are my own work using a Nikon N2000 35mm SLR camera.

• All photos have been scanned directly from 35mm negatives at a super-high resolution of 2400dpi to give apx. 8.5 Megapixels in standard JPEG format.

• Every photo comes with a caption stored in the “file properties” detailing the locomotive, location and exact date, the captions do not appear on the photos themselves as this would spoil them.  All captions are also stored in a single file of .DOCX, .RTF and .PDF formats so you can view/print them out for the whole disk.

• I use quality Memorex brand disks, NOT cheap “shop’s-own” disks.

• This CD comes with a colour sleeve, colour artwork label and a slim-line plastic case.

• I have been selling these disks since 2007 with hundreds of happy customers!

• I have been an amateur photographer using SLR cameras for over 30 years, I do not take pictures with mobile phones, tablets, instamatic or point-and-shoot etc.

• I retain copyright over all images.  These photos are NOT for resale or distribution in any format, but you may print them out for yourself if you wish.
