• General Comments: This is an introduction to the Department of Physics at Queen Mary College, London. It was a general leaflet sent around to prospective Physics students in the late 1970’s. Queen Mary College started off as London Hospital Medical College in 1785 but is now a Russell Group of Research Universities with 5 campuses and presence in 4 countries overseas. Over the years it has had 9 Nobel Laureates. Notable Alumini include: J.G. Ballard, Marcus Chown, Peter Hain, Esther McVey, Jimmy Hill, and many many more. This would be ideal for someone studying the history of QMC or for somebody who studied in the Department of Physics there in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s.
