Original British 17 inch x 11 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1955 Michael Anderson War Movie THE DAM BUSTERS, based on the book by Paul Brickhill and on Wing Comdr. Gibson's account in "Enemy Coast Ahead" and starring Richard Todd, Michael Redgrave, Derek Farr, Ursula Jeans, Frederick Leister, Raymond Huntley, Patrick Barr, Basil Sydney, Laurence Naismith, Harold Siddons, Nigel Stock, Robert Shaw, John Fraser, Bill Kerr, George Baker, Arthur Howard and Patrick McGoohan.
Dr Barnes Wallis creates a revolutionary new bouncing bomb to destroy the Ruhr dams and flood Nazi Germany's industrial heartland. Wing Commander Guy Gibson and his 617 Squadron take on the task.
The poster art is by Harold Forster.
”Forster was responsible for pre-war Black Magic chocolate illustrations, and the famous ‘Keep Mum, She’s Not So Dumb’ poster. He designed full-colour lithographic posters, and was personally commissioned to do work for the Ministry of Information by Edwin Embleton.”
