Oh, you ask, just what IS Padparadscha Sapphire? Well, it's basically a bright Orange Sapphire from the mining district of Padparadscha, India. I's essentially played out now, but 20 years ago, it was producing bright orange Sapphire with the most amazing play of red and yellow fire. Alas, no more. We do have a source, though, for a Created Sapphire with the same awesome color attributes, and for a ton less money. Accented by clear, sparkly CZs. Very pretty. This stone is set into a sturdy 4 prong basket. We cast our own mountings and will never use flimsy "snap tight" stuff... It allows the most show of stone for the least expense in silver. It's a good stable setting that doesn't set you back a month just to get one. |
