FROM THE EDITOR
Usually around this time of year, panic has set in because I haven’t completed my Christmas projects. I am sure that many of you have probably experienced the same trauma. Each year, like me, you promise yourself that you will start early and avoid both the Christmas rush and the inflated prices. Then you find yourself scurrying around overcrowded stores wondering why you didn’t keep your promise in the first place.
Our Christmas issue of CRAFTS PLUS is dedicated to last minute ingenuity, creativity and style. Our writers have been scowering the Canadian crafts community for new and interesting projects that require the minimum of time and effort. For this issue they have returned with Christmas Camels to sew, a Quilted Snowman wall hanging, Christopher the Stretchy Clown and much, much more for you to make.
Whether you are an experienced knitter or a novice, I hope that you will also enjoy the wide range of sweater patterns collected for this issue. The main emphasis of each pattern is style without a great degree of difficulty. CRAFTS PLUS also has a new feature designer, Melinda Masters, of Toronto. An experienced designer with her own boutique, Melinda will be contributing her wealth of experience on a regular basis to each of you with her special hand and machine knit creations. Look forward to more from Melinda in future issues.
This month’s recipe features emphasize the calorie. Our delectable desserts and sweet sampler of Christmas cakes should tempt even the strongest of wills. If you have any recipes you would like to share with other readers, please send them along to CRAFTS PLUS. Others would be delighted to know about your culinary triumphs. If you enclose a self addressed, stamped envelope, your recipes can be returned to you after consideration.
My invitation also extends to any of you who have a crafts project, sweater, outfit, quilt or any tips that you feel would be useful to other readers. Also, if you have any technique problems that CRAFTS PLUS should know about, please let us know. Our experts are here to help you and we welcome your responses.
