Original Russian 23 1/2 inch x 33 1/4 inch Poster for the 1950 Kurt Maetzig East German World War II Cold War Propaganda COUNCIL OF THE GODS (DER RAT DER GOTTER) starring Paul Bildt, Frtiz Tillmann, Willy Kleinau, Hans-Georg Rudolph and Albert Garbe.
Council of the Gods was intended to be a propaganda super-production of the type being made at that time in the Soviet Union by Mikhail Chiaureli. The film cost almost three million marks; the Soviet Union donated the necessary material from the Nuremberg trials and the director attempted to prove that the German IG-Farben concern collaborated throughout the war with the Americans and was helping them prepare another confrontation.
