Lovely Chunky 12ct Yellow Gold Filled Rope Chain.
-This is a truly gorgeous chain.
Crafted from 12ct Filled Gold.
-A gorgeous long chunky rope chain, does has a few signs of wear due to being vintage.
Fastens securely with a spring ring clasp.
-Chain Length - 24inch.
-Weighs over 55.75 grams.
Excellent vintage condition
Not marked but has been checked and tested.
Even though my jewellery is vintage I polish it to be worn straight away.
I have done a lot of research into gold manufacturing.
Gold filled is a technique developed in the 1920s where solid gold sheets are bonded onto a base metal via chemical or heat process. This produces a lasting gold item which is sturdy and will not wear (like modern items)
There is a minimum gold quantity of 10% (12ct) for an item to be called Gold Filled.
