Seller's Description
Cover includes a cachet of the official logo of the American Bicentennial Commission created by the Wyoming Bicentennial Commission.
The cover is stamped with the 3 cent Railroad Engineers stamp (Scott #993), the 3 cent 50th Anniversary of Wyoming Statehood stamp (Scott #897), and the 8 cent flag over the White House stamp (Scott #1338G). These stamps were canceled on July 4, 1976, in Tie Siding, Wyoming, with the Tie Siding Centennial (1875 - 1975) cancel. Tie Siding played a major role in providing the "ties" necessary for laying the Union Pacific railroad tracks across Wyoming.
Wyoming has played a major role in the history of the United States as a transportation crossroads.
The position of the stamps and cancels may vary slightly on these hand-crafted items.
