Original British 27 inch x 40 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1952 Ronald Neame Comedy THE CARD (THE PROMOTER), based on the novel by Arnold Bennett with a screenplay by Eric Ambler and starring Alec Guinness, Glynis Johns, Petula Clark, Valerie Hobson, Edward Chapman, Veronica Turleigh, George Devine, Frank Pettingell, Gibb McLaughlin, Joan Hickson, Henry Edwards, Matthew Guinness, May Hallatt, Michael Hordern, Wilfrid Hyde-White and Ewen Solon.

Guinness comes up trumps as the back-street washerwoman’s son who rises to the heights of mayordom at the end of the 19th century.

The poster is in good folded condition with a piece out of the lower left corner, a 6 inch tear at the lower right edge with a tape stain along the tear, a jagged tear and tape stains topo centre and 3 other edge tape stains. There is a small hole and creasing at the left end of the central horizontal fold and a smaller hole at the upper cross fold.
