Seller's Description
This is an old used black and white/sepia postcard of The Nave, looking east, posted in Canterbury on 26 August 1937 and the card still has the King George VI one penny stamp attached. It is a Raphael Tuck & Sons “Real Photograph” Postcard – Canterbury Cathedral, Series 5, officially produced for the Friends of Canterbury Cathedral. There is a narrative on the reverse – “The Nave, Looking East. The nave with its Early Perpendicular work, clustered shafts, lierne vaulting, tranceried windows and carved bosses was completed in 1411”. The card is in very good condition -- no creases or obvious marks (other than a couple of minor ones), even the corners remain mostly sharp.
(ED 11)
