Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1950 Basil Dearden Ealing Studios Crime Drama CAGE OF GOLD, from an original story by Jack Whittingham & Paul L. Stein and starring Jean Simmons, David Farrar, James Donald, Herbert Lom, Harcourt Williams, Gladys Henson, Gregoire Aslan, Madeleine Lebeau, Maria Mauban, Bernard Lee, Martin Boddey, Campbell Singer and Arthur Howard.
A young bride believes her husband has been killed. After a suitable period of mourning, she re-marries. But then her "dead" husband comes back and tries to extort money from her.
Advert design by S John Woods. Although Woods designed several Ealing posters he is better known for commissioning other well known contemporary artists such as John Piper, Leslie Hurry, Edward Bawden, Mervyn Peake and Edward Ardizzone in the belief that British films deserved the best and that British audiences could appreciate the best.
on the reverse the 8 1/2 inch a 11 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1950 Alan le May Western HIGH LONESOME starring John Barrymore Jr., Chill Wills, John Archer, Lois Butler and Kristine Miller.
The Advertisement is in very good condition with a vertical centre fold with 2 staples holes along it
