Butterick sewing pattern B6889, for Misses' retro 1950s side-buttoning dress. This pattern is new and uses modern sizing, but the design is taken from a 1950s original.
Difficulty Rating: Easy.
Retro 1950s Casual dress with left side button closure, falls in free lines from the shoulder, shaped by tie belt. Extended shoulder creates cap effect.View B has pocket.
FABRICS: Crepe, Silk, Cotton Blends, Challis, Rayon. Interfacing: Lightweight Fusible
NOTIONS: A, B: Seven 3/4" (2 cm) buttons, one hook and eye,one pair of 1/2" (1.3 cm) purchased shoulder pads or crinoline and batting (see fabric amounts below).
Also for B: 23/8 yds. (2.2 m) (2.1m) of 3/8" (1 cm) wide flexible braid
