Butterick 6209 sewing pattern, Circa early 1980s, can be used to make four different styles of a men’s Jacket in sizes: 40, 42, 44 & 46. (See the pattern inventory below to see which pieces have been modified to yield a size 46 jacket).

MEN’S JACKET Very loose-fitting, unlined, below waist jacket, has collar, front zipper, patch pockets with mock bands, elasticized lower edge and full length sleeves pleated into buttoned cuffs with placket. A and B: back shield and side tab with buttoned trim. B and C: hood with purchased drawstring. C and D: pullover, front neckline slit and elasticized lower edge on sleeves.

NOTIONS: 5/8” (15mm) Buttons: Six for A, Four for B and Two for D. A or B: 22” (55cm) Separating Zipper and 1-1/8 yds. (1.l0m) of 1¼” (32mm) Elastic. B or C: 2 yds. (1.90m) of ¼” (6mm) Cording and ½” (13mm) Bias Tape single fold. C or D: 1¼ yds. (1.20m) of 1¼” (32mm) and 5/8 yd. (0.60m) of ½” (13mm) Elastic.

FABRICS: Soft or Crisp fabrics; Poplin, Twill, Chino, Ltwt. Woolens, Synthetic Suede, Corduroy and Denim. Obvious diagonals - unsuitable. One-way designs - use nap fabric and layouts. Allow extra fabric to match plaids or stripes.

Notes:
* Some of the pieces (2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 & 9) have been modified to be one size larger than the pattern normally makes (to a Size 46).
Piece 2 Front A,B has been lengthened by 1¾ inches.
Piece 4 Back has been lengthened by 1¾ inches.
Piece 6 Sleeve Front has been lengthened by 1 inch.
Piece 6 Sleeve Back has been lengthened by 1 inch.

The pattern pieces instructions and envelope are in fair used condition.. There is a some writing on the rear of the envelope.

The pattern package weighs 57 grams (2.0 ounces). Shipping weight will be 90 grams. The pattern envelope measures approximately 21.7 X 14 X 2 cm (8½ X 5½ X ¾ inch) and will ship in a 27 X 19 cm envelope.

Please Note that I ship patterns via Canada Post letter mail, in a plain envelope and the listed postage is for that method. My Patterns are stored in a plastic storage bags and they are shipped in the same bag (if weight allows) placed inside of a standard envelope. If you require any other packaging/shipping please let me know prior to paying for the item.

Of course, as always, I combine shipping and all stated postage includes free insurance.
