Bradford 1967, Yorkshire Woollen & Dewsbury Bus, Large Photo
Description: This is a large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of a period street scene in Bradford in 1967. A Bradford City Transport 1962 Metro Cammel bodied AEC Regent V, Registration Number YAK132, fleet 132, route 4, destination board 'Dewsbury', overtakes a Yorkshire Woollen Leyland Leopard PSU3/1R which is parked at the bus stop on Nelson Street, taking on passengers. The Leyland Leopard was new in 1963 and has a Marshall body, fleet number 912, registration plate HHD876, route number 68, and a destination board displaying 'Huddersfield'.
Period billboard advertisements of the day include 'Corona' pop, 'Gold Leaf' cigarettes, and Yorkshire v West Indies at Park Avenue, Bradford. The old Bridge Street Goods Station was on the other side of the billboards and the Bradford bus interchange building now stands where these buses are positioned.
A great vintage scene of these two highly contrasting buses in late 1960's industrial Bradford.
