Description: This is a Large 12" inch x 8" inch photo of a weekday scene at the bus stop in Commercial Road, Bournemouth in August 1983, where a Wilts & Dorset red liveried Daimler Fleetline DMS bus, registration KUC239P, Fleet number 1928, Destination 'Poole' on route 161 is taking on passengers at the Commercial Road bus stop up the road from British Home Stores in 1980.
This part of Commercial road is now fully pedestrianized and has been almost completely rebuilt with the typical glass house industrial buildings, so much so that it is totally unrecognizable today in comparison to back in the day. This road was pedestrianized in the 1980's and the shops so extensively redeveloped that today it is difficult to recognize as the same road.
