Seller's Description

Original 1972 Re-Release French 22 1/2 inch x 30 inch Poster for the 1927 Abel Gance Historical Drama BONAPARTE AND THE REVOLUTION (BONAPARTE ET LA REVOLUTION) starring Albert Dieudonné as Napoléon Bonaparte, Gina Manès as Joséphine de Beauharnais, Vladimir Roudenko, Alexandre Koubitzky as Danton, Paul Amiot, Annabella, Antonin Artaud as Marat, Edmond Van Daële as Robespierre and Abel Gance as St. Just.

Using materials from the 1927 and 1936 versions of his classic film Napoleon, director Gance was able to restore and reconstruct it for modern audiences. This four-hour-long version was made possible through the efforts of Claude Lelouch and the Centre Du Cinema of the French government. It contains scenes which were newly shot for this release and has an introduction in which Gance explains what his original intentions were for the film, and why the silent version was unavailable for so long.

The poster is in fine unfolded (rolled) condition.
